Wieder Dermatology & Laser Center uses the latest version of the Thermage called the Thermage FLX System. This version of the Thermage is the most effective and comfortable one to date. In contrast to earlier versions, the FLX:
- Uses a larger tip size, making it 25% faster
- Optimizes the energy delivery by using AcuREPTM technology for automatic calibration and more reliable results
The Thermage technology combines pulsed radio frequency energy with cooling bursts to deliver more heat than ever before in a completely safe way. The heat goes down to the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen contraction and new collagen formation, giving an overall tightening to the treated areas without needles or incisions.
We have been using Thermage technology since 2003. Our patients see subtle tightening of their face, neck or eyelids after only one treatment. Some people see results as soon as a few weeks after the treatment, but most require 3-6 months for the new collagen to form to see the maximum results. Although this procedure does not replace what you may see with a surgical facelift, it does produce significant, reproducible skin tightening. Our patients are uniformly thrilled with the subtle changes without the need for surgery, anesthesia or recovery time.
The ideal candidate for treatment is someone who has mild to moderate skin laxity and sun damage. Although the average age of treatment is 35-60, age is less important than the degree of laxity. People with severe laxity usually will not benefit from the Thermage treatment.
